                                             Finley Stadium Story

Finley Stadium was the dream of many in the Chattanooga area, however, it took the efforts and considerable financial commitments of two men in particular to bring together all the components needed to make this dream a steel and mortar reality.  Gordon Lee Davenport, for whom the field is named,  and W. Max Finley whose name the stadium bears.
The stadium was completed in time for the 1997 Division I-AA (now Football Championship Subdivision) Championship Game and subsequently hosted the game for 13 consecutive years.

It has been the home of the University of TN at Chattanooga football MOCS since its completion and the home field of the Chattanooga Football Club of the "Premier Soccer League" since its inception.
